Hello all! I’m so excited I just have to spill the beans on the good news first! I entered ZGallerie’s 34th Anniversary Giveaway on Facebook and this week I received an email that I was one of the daily winners of a $100 gift card! The giveaway is running through June 30th so there’s still time to enter if you haven’t already. Just “like” ZGallerie on Facebook and click the 34th Anniversary Giveaway icon to enter. I can’t remember the last time I actually won something, so I’m totally beside myself right now. I should probably go buy a lottery ticket while I’ve got this good juju going on.
So back to the original reason for this post… ART. I’ve been really looking forward to displaying some art I’ve collected over the years, possibly even creating a gallery wall in the long hallway the runs down the center of the house. There were a few pieces that didn’t quite fit the gray/neutral vibe of my last house, so this time I’m bringing them out and displaying them proudly, along with some new prints I just picked up. Get a load of this deliciousness:
Are those not the most yummy paintings you’ve ever seen? This art is right up my alley – still life food art has always been a favorite of mine and those colors just make me smile. You can find these and other amazing pieces on Joël’s Etsy store. I knew they would be perfect for the new nest and bought a signed and numbered giclée of both to frame up. And you know what these would look great with? More food art!
This piece was a gift given to me from my mother and father-in-law many years ago. The amazing Cat Seyler painted this piece for the annual Tomato Festival that is held every August in East Nashville. The colors are so vibrant and saturated, I just love it. I’ve purchased several of Cat’s paintings over the years and you can buy her art on Etsy here. Many of her paintings are gorgeous florals like this one:

Well that’s a sneak peek into some of the art that will be going into the new Julian home. I realize it’s a lot of color and these pieces will definitely be tempered with some neutral objets d’art. Did I mention I can’t wait to display all these goodies? If all goes as planned, we’ll have drywall up by the end of this week. Woo-hoo!
